Events & Marketing Coordinator

Bring Back the Trades is growing fast, and we need someone who wants to grow with us.

We’re a national nonprofit on a mission to close the skilled trades workforce gap — through Skills Expos, scholarships, tool grants, and hands-on programs that get young people excited about careers in the trades. We’re looking for someone eager to work hard on our mission, help build the events and marketing that makes our work possible, and take ownership over how things get done.

Job Description:

Our Events & Marketing Coordinator is the person who makes our events run. That means coordinating logistics for everything from regional meetups to our flagship national Skills Expos: venues, vendors, registration, equipment, communications and more. The coordinator manages timelines and budgets, keeps sponsors and vendors engaged and recognized, and is on-site (some evenings and weekends) making sure things go smoothly and volunteers know where to be.

Beyond events, the coordinator helps drive social media content, communications, keeps our CRM (Salesforce) and volunteer database up-to-date, and eventually helps maintain our online resource database as we continue to grow. Also required are post-event surveys and recaps to help shape how we do things better every time.

Who thrives in this role:

  • Confident to take on responsibilities, own them and see them through to fruition without continual oversight. You ask great questions, figure things out, and help drive initiatives forward.
  • Organized with excellent attention to detail, even when things get busy.
  • High energy, positive can-do attitude, and show up ready to solve problems.
  • You care about the people you’re serving, whether that’s a sponsor, a volunteer, or a student (of any age) discovering a trade for the first time.
  • You want your work to mean something bigger than a paycheck

Required: Comfort picking up new software quickly. License and personal transportation required. Must be able to independently work remotely and be online consistently 8 am to 5 pm. Must be able to lift boxes and help move items including tables (up to about 30 lbs). Must be located in a commutable distance to Rye, New Hampshire for regularly scheduled team meetings.

Ideal experience: 1–3 years of experience in events, nonprofit work, account management, retail customer service, or something adjacent. We are willing to train the right candidate willing to wear many hats and support significant organizational growth. What matters most is drive, attention to detail, serious follow through on promises, passion, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, small-team environment.

Software: Salesforce or CRM experience, Canva/Adobe Suite/video editing skills, QuickBooks or basic invoicing familiarity ideal.

The details: Up to $50,000/year plus benefits. Regional travel required (some overnight), with occasional evenings and weekends around events.

A passion for making a difference through trades education, workforce development, or youth programming is important.
